Hello Friday!

          *pic from here

Friday is finally here! Yay! Now lets just hope George makes it home from work in time so I can make a procrastination run to Michael's before Craft Night!

I have been thinking about what I want to make tonight, but haven't been able to really decide on any one thing. I think Im going to do a boring wreath. : /
I dont really know if Im all that in to wreathes, but I know that they are super easy to whip up so that's what I will probably be doing. I think it's the color of my front door. My front door, porch, and shutters are red, like an ugly dirty read. Not vibrant at all. Might have to add painting said things to our To Do list for this weekend.

Here is the wreath I will probably make.....unless I find something WAY more awesome tonight.

The only problemo is that I dont know anywhere in town that carries awesome Chevron fabric. Since Hobby Lobby blew away, there is not much of anything. And Hancock's selection is for people who like "holliday" fabric with snowmen holding a little "Merry Christmas" sign. UM NO.

 *pic from here

I do have a ton of pretty vintage fabric that I could probably put to good use with these cute napkins.

Or, a painted Chevron Rug?

Uh. I think it's clear I dont know what Im going to make.

Here's a Ryder monster to say BYE!

I need musical help!

*pic from here

To be married to someone who is as obsessed with music as George is, I have no clue what is awesome to listen to. He listens to hardcore crap that I have NO interest in. He likes other stuff too, but still, not really anything I am loving.

I have always had a hard time knowing about awesome new people to listen to. I remember when I was in the 3rd grade this girl asked me how many CD's I had, I think I had maybe 7 or something. When I told her she started laughing and told me she had like 90 CD's. A 3rd grader. What.
Some of my CD's included: Alan Jackson, The Macarena, Oldies, Hanson......Oh, and the Good Burger soundtrack. Remember that movie?! I sent off for a chance to win in this Nickelodeon sweepstakes and I won the soundtrack. I thought it was the coolest thing ever. See, even as a 3rd grader, my music collection was weird and sucked.

My music collection today is pretty much non exsistent.  Seriously, in the car I listen to silence, or Ryder talking about things he sees out the window.

I need help! I want to know about awesome people to listen to, but I just dont care enough to seek people out, listen, download their music or whatever. I mean, i have listened to and liked The Avett Brothers, Mumford and Sons, etc. but never care enough to get their music to listen to it.
Oh, one person I do like and did care enough to get their music and play their videos over and over again is this fella:
The Tallest Man on Earth

Love him.

SO, if you have any musical suggestions for me, tell me. I am getting sick of driving in silence, but I am also too lazy to find out about people myself.

Ok Bye!

A Fall Mini Session and Guest Blog Post

I mean, really, I know my son is the cutest ever, but Jenny's photography is AWESOME.

A couple of months ago my friend Jenny asked me if I would help style some mini session photo shoots. UM, YEA! We quickly decided on a fall/apple theme. So I set out to build an apple stand. And I am proud to say that the hutch part, I built all by myself! George did help me with the market bottom, it was hard to do it alone. Using a skill saw takes a little muscle, and ours might be kind of crappy because it kept kicking back every time I got to the very end of the wood. SO, we switched to the jig, my fav.
After we built the stand and painted it I thought it needed a little something extra, so I found a scrap piece of wood and drew a scalloped bubble with a crayon (thank you Ryder) and cut it out with the jigsaw. Spray painted it with chalkboard paint, screwed it to the stand, and now its perfect. Now, after the photo shoots are over, we can write whatever we want on the sign and erase it as many times as we please :)

If you want to build your own apple stand, or lemonade stand, or whatever stand go here for the plans! It really is so cute and easy.

SO, we did all this set up, and took all these pics to show you what YOU can do for your kids fall pictures! Jenny is setting up 30min mini-sessions on October 9th and 10th. Go here, to Jenny's blog to get more info OR you can email her at jnphoto@bellsouth.net and reserve a time :)

Here are a couple more of my favs

The sweet little nugget above is Jenny's son, Cash. His eyes are gorgeous!

----------------------------------

I am also very excited because I was asked to do a guest blog post on a friends awesome blog! Go here to see what I have to say about transitions in family! I met Misty through my friend Ashley when Ashley and I worked at Bama Bean together. Remember, I told you that was my most favorite job of my life! Misty has a super cute son and she blogs about her sweet family, go check her out!

OK people it is rainy, Lucy's napping, George is back at the ENT with Ryder and I have a project Im working on that I will hopefully be able to show yall by Friday.
Oh, in case you(mom) are wondering why George is BACK at the ENT with Roe he is on his 3rd set of tubes....yea, and he's three years old. A new set for every year it seems. So now, they check his ears every 3 months until forever I guess. Last week he had fluid they had to get out, so they are rechecking that.

OK, bye!

Happy Monday!-I want a Smore's Party.

Hey Hey Hey! Happy Monday!

I hope everyone had an awesome weekend! My fam did!

Friday we just kinda lazed around I think. Can't really remember, must not have been too terribly exciting! But Saturday I got to work with my friend Jenny styling a photo shoot. More to come on that AND how you can have your kids in our Apple Themed Shoot! Trust me, you will want to book a session!

Yesterday we met with our small group. Loved it. We are reading through Acts and talked last night about chapter 5 and our thoughts on community. Well, they talked....I listened. For some reason I get really shy when talking about the Bible. Im pretty outgoing, and can be serious, but I just have a hard time opening my mouth when it comes to that sort of thing. Maybe I will get better about it.

Oh, yea, I want to have a Smore's party. Since we will probably host a small group at our house at some point I thought at first I could make the small group a Smore's party. Maybe. Might be better for a different night. While our house sucks, our backyard is wonderful. Playhouse, slide, swing set, trampoline, the neighbors chickens popping over for a visit, ghetto fire pit made from cinder blocks.......what more could you ask for?!

*pic from here

I found this picture and decided I needed to have a party. A super awesome one with home-made marshmallows, lots of nutella, and maybe some Chai Tea Smores....
*pic from here

I think mid October will be a perfecto time to have this sort of gathering. We should probably have hot dogs to roast or mini pizzas too, so we dont all pass out from a sugar overload.

Now I need to go do my chores, dream about being a professional photo stylist, and decide on what craft I am making for the Ladies Craft night at our church.

Oh, and lookout! I will have stuff in my Etsy shop by then end of October! Im excited :) Have a great day!

BYE!

Flashback Pic!

This is one of my favorite pictures ever. Ryder was probably about 7 months old here. Man he was a cute baby! And whoa, George looks like a 17 year old. He's pretty cute too ;)

We didnt go to the zoo today, but we did go to the McWane Center instead! Ryder doesnt care, just as long as he gets to play with Ava. Lucy thinks that because she can walk she is as big as everyone else. I spent most of my time crawling up a slide chasing after her. One concerned father told me on one of my trips to chase after her "um, your baby just went up the slide". Yea guy, thanks.

Hope everyone has a fantastic weekend :)

We're getting TV! We're getting TV!

*pic from here

Not an actual TV, we already own one of those. But we are getting regular TV back! Its been about 9 months to a year since we cut the cord from DirecTV. People, we were paying like $70-$80 a month just for stupid DirecTV. A lovely service that never worked when it rained.
When we let go of DirecTV we had Netflix to back us up. Streaming to our TV regularly is The Office, Parks and Rec, 30 Rock, Yo Gabba Gabba, Sesame Street, and now Mad Men.
By the way, that show irritates me. George is in love, but I always refuse to watch it with him because Don Draper is horrendous. I always get on the computer to stare at Pinterest, but I then wind up asking him questions about what people's reactions are on the show, and what's going on in the story line. Eventually I get sucked in and go sit down and finish the episode. I usually make it halfway through the show with my protesting before I give in. We are only in season 1 though. George thinks Betty is the best thing ever, but I hear she becomes insane.

So anyway, we are getting AT&T U-Verse today! Whoop! We already have our internet through them, and adding TV is only going to be $13 more bucks a month! Plus faster internet, PLUS we get a $150 Visa gift card from them. I mean, this is just going to be awesome. I will be able to sit down tonight and watch Parks and Rec when everyone else is! It's an exciting time in the Edmondson home haha! AND since its date night, George and I will get to watch the shows in PEACE!

Tomorrow Ryder, Lucy, and I have a date at the zoo with some friends, and a picnic lunch to end the fun. I'm excited I get to pack the kids lunches in their new containers I got at Old Navy...

For Ryder:
For Lucy:

Aren't those super cute! It comes with a little tray and spoon inside :) They were $5 and the enticed me when I was checking out. That stuff at the the register always gets me!
This is a great time to go to the zoo and picnic since it wont be so hot. Now, I need to find something cute to pack my lunch in......and maybe I should go buy something to make for lunch.

Vintage Tuesday--Lets have lunch!

Yesterday I was in Old Navy looking at their tin lunchboxes. They had some cute ones, but Etsy has them beat. Of course.

Ryder would LOVE this lunchbox. He is all about Spider Man and "the man with the star".

This would be so cute for Lucy. Even though her man Elmo isn't on there, she still loves Sesame Street. I also think she might have a think for Cookie Monster too :) The price is a tad insane though, $59.95!
This one is for me :) Why dont they make things like this anymore??

Thats it for me! George is at the ENT with Ryder, Lucy is napping,  and I am about to make our grocery list out so I can go shopping in peace when the boys get home. I think I will start making every tuesday my grocery shopping day. Also, I need to get back into couponing. Ugh. Something I used to like to do but now I dread. All these women on that show that get like $600 of groceries for $30 annoy me. They NEVER get a full weeks meals. So you know they have to go back to the store to buy stuff to cook and eat during the week. Yay, you got 75 packs of toilet paper. But you didnt get anything to make for supper! I mean I get it, they did get an amazing deal. But it seems to me that they do it more for the thrill than to get things for their family. What fam can use 100 sticks of deodorant before it expires?

Haha, Vintage Tuesday turned into "Stupid Coupon Tuesday".
ANNNDD, George forgot to but the trash can at the road, and the garbage truck just passed our house. Awesome.

New Shoes and a Sneak Peek

Hello Friendlies! I hope you all had a wonderful weekend! Mine was alright, but can I just say that I am glad we are back to normal life this week? Vaca was fun and all, but routines make me happy :)

I have been looking all over for Lucy some cute shoes for fall. Somehow Ryder has 10 million pairs of shoes and Lucy has none. Well, I did just buy her 3 pairs at Old Navy, but they are pretty basic and not really my fav. But there is an Etsy shop I have had my eye on since I was pregnant with Lucy. They sell A-freaking-Dorable mary janes. I wanted to buy some for her when she was a little baby, but they are about $35. So, I realized I would use my brain and decided she could have a pair when she was actually walking. $35 for an accessory(which is what a shoe is for a person who cant walk)? Um, no. Im all about deals. Which is why today she was dressed head-to-toe in baby Gap, and the whole outfit cost $20. Oh, you wanted to see the cute shoes and go to the Etsy site? Here it is!

Ok, see! Aren't they awesome! They have tons more cuties....here to check them out!
Now I just need to figure out which ones I want :)

----
Sneak Peek! My beautiful friend Emily took these amazing pics at Lucy's birthday party. There might be a full birthday post later, with links to the mason jar tutorial :)

Hope everyone has a great day, I think we are heading up to skate church tonight.

Pretty Packaging

I love pretty things to package gifts in, dont you? I found a little website called Poppies for Grace. Let me tell you, they have some beauties.

My favorite thing has to be these gift tags. The are so pretty, and I would love to receive a gift with this tag....or I might like a box of them for Christmas(hint hint fam).

Isnt this treat bag super cute? It's an Australian website, so they are listed as "lolly bags". Ha, I thought that was funny. This looks super easy to DIY though. Just some paint, a sponge circle stamper, white paper bag, and a scallop punch and you are in business. I might make make these soon.

These stickers actually might be my favorite. 39 stickers for $10.

I love this stationary set. I pretty much like everything in the "Rose Garden" collection that they have. My friend Ashley loves to write letters, and I am one of the lucky people that gets to receive them from her! I wish I wrote to people more like she does, maybe if I had this it would be motivation to!

I thought this shop was really cute. Like I said its an Australian shop, but they do ship to America. For only $5.95 I might add!

Dont you love finding random little shops online? It seems that most of the ones I find that have pretty things are European, and rarely ship to the United States :( Just as well though, the stuff they sell is usually WAY out of my price range!

But those bags up there, and possibly the gift tags, I could totally make on a craft date with some friends. Not sure they would look as pretty though!

Hope everyone has a wonderful weekend!

Beach Baby!

Um, attention people: Lets hurry up and go down to the beach. There is a lot of sand that needs to be inserted into my mouth.

I kept trying to get Ryder to bury my feet in the sand. Ya know, the lazy parent's excuse that makes the kid think they are participating in the sand fun, when in reality they are asleep in the chair.....he didnt buy it. That's ok, I really like building sand castles. My mother loaded us up with sand toys for the beach, so we had some serious construction going on.

There will little "baby pools" where the tide had come in. Lucy had the best time ever. I wasnt a fan because it was all a little too warm. Plus I saw several kids pop squats in them to pee. No thanks. Lucy was out after that....

Whoa. Im too cool for pics.

Checkin to see if the parentals are looking.....
Oh yea, I got this......
THE OCEAN! FREEDOM!!

seriously, every single time we set her down she took off like a freaking marathon runner for the ocean.
---
There was other fun besides the beach though..
Whoop! Walked right in and sat down at Sea-N-Suds. My bff Randi always makes fun of me for loving SnS. She says its "cafeteria food"...she is also crazy, and a bit senile.
I think Lucy might think its cafeteria food too. Hey, George and I are very patriotic on this night.

---
After Sea-N-Suds we went to "The Shark Store". Otherwise known as Souvenir City.
Ryder got a shark head on a stick...
...tried on awesome glasses with Georgio...
...and attacked me with his shark head in an alley of hats.

---

Now, on to the beach for a little crab searchin'.

there werent any.....so we left : /

---
Lucy's favorite thing was stuffing her face with string cheese,

and Ryder's favorite thing was playing video games at the Track. Im not gonna lie, I am the ski ball QUEEN. I wish I had ski ball in my house.

Hope you enjoyed my beach trip! We sure did! PEACE!

We're Back!

pic from here

YAY! WE ARE HOME!!!! This will be a quickie post, I will share our pics and adventures with you tomorrow.

We had so much fun and it was awesome to get away, but oh buddy are we glad to be back home. This was our first trip down with Lucy and the drive there and back went really well. Both kids were awesome, thanks to the dvd player my mom got them ;) Im not a fan of kids constantly watching or playing something, but on a long car trip with two young children it was a lifesaver.
It has been fun getting back on Pinterest, and catching up a bit on the blogs I read. The condo didnt have internet.

Now I have a mountain of clothes to wash and dry and put away. That is the craptastic part of going on vacation.

Two milestones did happen while we were away: 1) Ryder got two splinters in his foot! Stupid wooden deck :(
2) Lucy started to really walk. She has been taking steps for a while now, but only like 3 or 5, then she would fall. But now she is walking everywhere. I mean she still falls some, and she sometimes thinks that crawling is the way to go. But she's getting it!

Ok, that's it for my boring update! I will be picture heavy tomorrow! BYE!
